Day 2 Thursday 30 May

Our Emirates plane was very nice, as were the Hosties, and the entertainment system was very up to date and Beryl watched a movie and some TV replays and got quite a few hours sleep but I ended up watching 5 movies ( one only half) and tried to sleep by as usual I suffered from a very stiff neck and gave up.
We arrived in Dubai at 5.20am (noon Brisbane) and made our way to the tour operator for our private transfer to the Sheraton Dubai on the Creek with a fabulous view of the "Creek" and the rest of Dubai towards the Burg Kalifa - tallest building in the world.
We paid extra to get into our room early and settled in very quickly to this excellent Hotel.
A taxi took us to the Mall of the Emirates which is huge and contains an Aquarium which has 33,000 aquatic animals (including sharks) in it and Glass bottom boats to take a ride in!! The front glass panel is the largest in the world. Not only this but an Olympic sized skating rink is in there too!
The Burg Kalifa is next door and you can go to the 124th floor for viewing and Arab exhibits. The lagoon in between has thousands of fountains that dance to music and lights at night rising 150 meters high.

That evening we walked along the Creek in the cool, watching all the boats stacking cargo to impossible heights, then covering it with tarps before going out to sea to places like Somalia. The items even include old cars jammed in with food and clothing etc.
The Creek comes alive at night with Dining boats, all colorfully lit, along with ferries etc.
