Day 35 Tuesday 02 July

We arrived into Singapore about 3pm and our ride took us to the Hotel @ Queens where we have stayed before. We headed of to Bugis Street for some action and I tried to find a Money Changer  but we were sent every which way till we found one and then took the wrong turn out of the Shopping Center and promptly got lost for about an hour. I think everyone in Singapore has a stall at night or goes shopping!!

Day 36 Wednesday 03 July

This morning wewent   shopping for a tablet for my father (94years) and had 3 hours of trauma as the shop keepers tried to rip us off. I think we still paid too much but it could have been a lot worse! I think we probably could have bought it in Aussie for about the same price with an Aussie warranty. After this exhausting experience we headed to the Bugis St underground station and caught a train to the Marina Sands Hotel - the one with the pool that stretches across 3 separate buildings. There is a lookout on the top of one tower where the view is fantastic for the full 350degrees and we spent some time up there. There is also a new Botanical Gardens established next to the Hotel (all on reclaimed land) and we spent the rest of the afternoon here and watched the light show after the sun went down. They have made these abstract trees with lights all thru them and they change color all evening. There is also a couple of climate controlled domes where they grow all sorts of exotic plants and the shape of these domes was modeled on our Sydney Opera House Sails we were told.

Day 36 Thursday 04 July

We flew out of Singapore at about 3pm arriving back in Brisbane at about 10pm.
The highlights of our tour were the French Cruise and our time in London and the South West of England but we enjoyed it all, especially the people we met along the way. Emirates were great with new planes and up to date entertainment systems but I dont know how many times I can do Dubai!!!
Cheers for now , till the next holiday

Day 33 Sunday 30 June

After packing our bags and having another great breakfast we disembarked in Basel and on to a coach which took us to our Movenpick Airport Hotel in Zurich. We settled in and then checked out the Avalon room, where they were greeting the new arrivals for the next cruise, and we booked the afternoon city tour. The coach took us to the lake to watch all the boats etc and Beryl tryed to buy a snack with the few euros we had left but came back with a can of drink and one cake for the princely sum of 10 euros from a little stall. Bit expensive. The coach took us around town and dropped us for a walk in the old town including climbing thru the narrow cobbled streets to a lookout with magnificent views of Zurich over the river. The Church with the twin towers is the symbol of Zurich and is called the "Grossmunster" and is visible everywhere. After the tour we had a nice dinner (expensive also) at the Hotel and wandered the streets until we found a shop but they would not sell us even a bottle of water for euros in excess of the price - you need swiss francs! The Swiss also like their dogs and a lady wandered into the Hotel with a huge Afghan hound looking for a restaurant, she was directed to her choice.

Monday 01 July Day 34

We packed and checked out this morning and went to the Airport via shuttle bus where we had lunch and caught our flight to Singapore via Dubai, which seemed to take forever after  6 hour transfer in Dubai.
