Day 19 Sunday 16 June

Our Oyster cards were a great idea and we have used them for Underground and Light rail and now the big red buses. we were dropped of near marble Arch and the entrance to Hyde Park where Speakers Corner is. We saw some speakers (mostly religious) and then on to see Serpentine Lake and then on to Buckingham Palace. The area was nicely decorated after the Horse Guards Parade yesterday and plenty of people around despite the poor weather (is this summer or not).
Moving on we visited the Royal Mews where some of the Queens horses are kept and there are several of the Royal carriages including the one presented to the Queen during her visit for our bicentennial. This was more interesting than looking at the boring front of the Palace! All these coaches are still used these days and the gold one (the Coronation Coach I think) has the walls of the museum taken down to get it out!
We walked back to Pimlico via Victoria station to see where the coach terminal is - where we have to meet our tour tomorrow - Greenline Coach Terminal.
We had a slower day today so we can get back to pack, have a meal in the restaurant and get a good nights sleep before setting off for the tour of the west country. Looking forward to that!
We have to say we are enjoying London much more, whether its because of the people, our accommodation (amazing bedroom, lounge room, bathroom and kitchen with large hall), or the fact that everything is in English.

A display of teapots where we stopped for a cuppa!
