Day 30 Thursday 27 June

We arrived in Mainz this morning and went on our normal walking tour which centered on the Gutenberg Museum. This is where the printing press was invented by Gutenberg to produce a 42 line bible i n 1455. This of course changed the world with everybody having a reason to learn to read.
From Mainz we were taken to Heidelberg to view the old University City. We were taken to the top of the hill where the the magnificent ruins of Europes largest castle overlooks the City. The Castle has been partially restored and is used for all sorts of occasions such as weddings. We also had free time to wander in Heidelberg before coaching to Speyer to rejoin our ship.
After dinner the Crew put on their Talent show with some very good acts and some of our favorite staff  were well featured.
